Just because he was a marine doesn't mean he was a saint. I remember back in the days of Vietnam that many people were given the option of 4 years in jail, or 2 years in the military. Some people I served with took the 2 year option.
Same here......and what's funny is that I and the guys we're talking about worked in a communication center which required at least a secret clearance.......Guess they didn't do security background checks back then.....LOL!
