BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - The hotly contested and much anticipated race for the NY27 Congressional seat between Republican Chris Collins and Democrat Nate McMurray was too close to officially call, but the challenger appeared to realize that only after initially conceding.
McMurray is now demanding a recount.
The Democrat addressed supporters shortly after 11 p.m., telling them the effort was "going to come up a little short."
That prompted Collins to declare victory about a half hour later.
According to the unofficial vote count on the New York State Board of Elections, Collins defeated McMurray by just barely over one percentage point. With over 277,000 voters in the race for NY-27, Collins edged McMurray but just under 3,000 votes.

“Recounts” are how the Nazi “democrats” steal elections.
Yep; every vote counts.
My old district. I’m glad Collins won.
Great news! I think Hunter won also. So glad the Deep State was unsuccessful in stealing these 2 seats.
Was this the latest deepster FBI/SEC/DOJ mode of attack on republicans. I have been keeping copious notes on all of the democrats who they have been indicted. I have the list right here. It's quite extensive, I believe, wait, this can't be right. No one?
I am not saying Collings was a boy scout. I mean, what he was alleged to have done ways STUPID. But Collings was an early Trump supporter. In fact he was the FIRST congressmen to endorse him. Hunter was a Trump ally too. And THEY get indicted. How many Democrats have been indicted? Anyway, A crooked Collins is better than McMurray. McMurray doesn’t even live in the district, by the way.
Several Dems who conceded their races to the winning Republicans have now rescinded their concessions. Is Soros funding them all, too? This is ridiculous!!
Typical LIB lunatic sore LOSERs...
My speculation. McMurray has something like $1 million in campaign debt. I am guessing it is easy to fund raise when you gin up controversy.
