Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas outperformed pro-abortion Democratic challenger Rep. Beto ORourke and won a Senate victory despite ORourke raking in unprecedented campaign contributions and a love-affair from the mainstream media.
The abortion activist had raised nearly $40 million in the third quarter of 2018, smashing the all-time record for most raised in one quarter, previously set at $22 million. Comparatively, Cruz raised roughly $12 over the same period. After ORourke revealed he wouldnt be sharing any of the war chest he amassed with the other Democrats in tight races, Cruz took a jestful shot at the congressman, saying that if Democrats want to embrace the principles of socialism they should just take the money
ORourke is a three-term pro-abortion Representative from Texas, who has a long pro-abortion record. He lost despite massive help from the former president of Planned Parenthood who urged Texans to help raise for a money to unseat Republican Sen. Ted Cruz.
For many years I served as the president of Planned Parenthood and I saw first hand what happens when politicians put their own ideological agenda ahead of the health and wellbeing of women and young people, Cecile Richards said in video. Frankly, thats what Ted Cruz has done his entire political career.
Cruz has been a staunch supporter of the unborns right to life and vehemently opposed to organizations that perform abortions while receiving federal funding.
Earlier this year, Cruz wrote a powerful column for Fox News calling out the Democratic Partys extremism on abortion.
The Texas Republican and former presidential candidate slammed Democrat lawmakers who rejected the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, a bill that would have prohibited abortions after 20 weeks when unborn babies are capable of feeling pain.
Cruz said the bill was reasonable legislation that would have put American laws in line with the rest of the world. The United States is one of only seven countries in the world that permits elective abortions past 20 weeks a fact confirmed by the Washington Post fact checker.

The bill failed to pass the U.S. Senate Monday because there were not enough votes to overcome pro-abortion Democrats filibuster.
Expressing his disappointment, Cruz wrote:
for the most part it eliminated as a category a procedure that not only ended an innocent life but ended it in such a way as to constitute torture.
I had hoped that my Democratic colleagues could see the merits of such legislation. I had hoped that they could recognize the barbarity of ripping apart a suffering child and put in place at least some limit of what we as a nation are willing to carry out in the aftermath of Roe v. Wade.
The radicalization of the Democratic Party on abortion in recent years, however, means that most cannot countenance even the slightest restriction; or the slightest acknowledgement that abortion on demand, without apology has its downsides. Instead, virtually every Democrat filibustered this commonsense legislation.
The vote exposed just how radical the Democratic Party has become. Polls consistently show strong public support for a 20-week abortion ban, including a majority of Democrats and women. However, just three Democrats in the Senate supported the bill. Two Republicans also opposed it.
Cruz criticized pro-abortion Democrats for ignoring how many women feel pressured to abort their unborn babies.
What is more, for all the rhetoric about choice, the evidence paints a more grisly picture, he wrote. A recent report published in the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons reveals that out of nearly 1,000 women surveyed, 74 percent felt that their decision was pressured by others.
When women are struggling with poverty or abuse or simply a lack of support, Cruz said there always is a better solution than to kill an unborn child.
We understand that a woman can feel trapped by an abortion, and that the proper response to unplanned pregnancy is not coercion; nor is it the cold, harsh hallways of an abortion clinic. The proper response is a helping hand, he continued. The proper response is love.
Cruz said he was proud to support the legislation, and he looks forward to a day when every unborn babys life is protected.
I hope and pray that one day, all unborn children will be awarded the most basic of all human rights the right to life, he concluded.
>>>Thats a lot of cash in the trash. :-)
Not necessarily. It might have helped down ticket races like TX-7 and TX-32 to flip. Would that have been the case if the Senate were not as close.
Tell me someone, I have no TV, but I presume there was NOT any blue wave, not even a light blue wave. It was pretty much a tie, and for midterms the Democrats were supposed to come out ahead, so they lost... I say if anyone needs to be feeling good, and going to be happy are the Trump supporters. Am I right to assume this?
He is a twitching, vein bulging idiot. Maybe he and Alexandria oscasio-Cortez can reproduce and have bug eyed, twitchy moronic socialist kids.
Beto is a scum bag scumier than most.
I’m glad that real Texans outnumbered the posers this cycle.
Hopefully we can rid ourselves from these dredges of society (democrats) prior to the next election.
So happy to be a Texan tonight!!!!
I was keeping tabs on Dallas' ABC affiliate WFAA's web site and Beto did have the lead for a while as the votes were coming in. But Cruz took the lead and it keeps growing.
Yes, they lured you in with conservatism, but it's over now...give it up. Sean Hannity is not worth continuing with Fox News.
Tell Sean to move or be irrelevant!
He didn’t almost win. Let the rest of the precincts come in.
$100 million just doesn’t go as far as it used too..........
Cruz’s convention stunt hurt him far more in this midterm than he realizes. It was a horrible decision to not support Trump at that moment...we all thought he would...at least I did. Cruz really soured me toward him for a long time when he failed to do the ‘right thing’....Yes I am very happy Cruz won too....but he had to fight for it.....
It would have been a nightmare had Roukie won and he would not have faired so well without the money in his coffers, 70 million!
No blue wave, but Allred is winning against Sessions at the moment.
So Ted beat Beto with just $12 ? Man what a deal!
“Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas outperformed pro-abortion Democratic challenger Rep. Beto ORourke and won a Senate victory”
Wow, if that’s how you describe “outperformed,” I just wonder what “close” would be to this reporter. That wasn’t the election I watched tonight! Cruz barely escaped with his a$$ in tact! I am still in a state of shock that Texas would essentially split right down the middle on Cruz. He’s got less than a 3% lead in a state that Trump carried by 10 points two years ago!
What would you do if someone accused your father of being involved in the assassination of a president!!
Because Fox News is liberal. What is it about fox is liberal that conservatives do not understand?

Fox sucks. Brett Baier, Cavuto, Wallace, Hume etc. Just a bunch of never Trump dooshes.
Texas.
Awesome news. Now Beto can go free to try his luck campaigning for president or governor whatever else it is failed candidates do.
And Ted having to eat humble crow from Trump for the rest of his term is just a bonus. Probably makes for some awkward conversations in the Cruz household.
I kind of agree. I don’t know if those listed are “never Trump” or not. I do know they work for a liberal outfit. If they can not see the liberal leanings of those they work for, then, well, their conservative credentials are compromised.
Not support Hillary, even indirectly. I’d find other options short of DESTROYING this country over it.
Beto’s 70 million got flushed down the toliet.
