With the current VA choice program, living farther than 40 miles from the closest VA facility automatically qualifies you for VA Choice and you can see a civilian doctor with the VA covering everything.
That should be available to all as most VA Hospitals will kill you. I had an Alabama VA outpatient treatment card good at any MD’s, any hospital etc. from 76-on. I came to Nashville when the director here was like a CO. He inspected the grounds at 0630 hours and walked the halls all day. After he left the VAMC in Nashville went to hell. That was about 2002. Bush let all the damn cat 8’s, 7’s, plus anyone who ever served a damn day use the VA. I recall one had to be cat 1 here. I could see anyone I wanted here then. This fake PTSD for a mortar round flying over one’s head plus fear in a non combat zone is BS. No PH, No valor award, no combat action ribbon, no CIB or no CMB =’s fake PTSD.
