Congressional investigations are worthless. All they accomplished was a chance for the politicians to get TV time, and filler material for the TV pundits.
All the "good stuff" that came out about FISA, the FBI corruption etc. was produced by the IG (like the Strzok-Page messages) or via FOIA requests or individuals such as Julian Assange (Wikileaks) or a certain anonymous cat with one-letter name.
If there is going to be any real action it will come out of the DoJ or Mueller (who is also controlled by DoJ).
As another example of futility, Hillary used her Benghazi hearing as a foundation piece in her Presidential run. It helped her immensely because she was able to face a toothless committee, half of whom were her defense lawyers.
It is too bad we couldn't get the wall before losing the House, but really, a lot of Republicans never had any intention of building the wall. It might still get done as part of a Trump-led negotiation, or it might be an issue for 2020 which once again POTUS owns.
I hate it that we lost the House, but I trust POTUS to handle it masterfully.
