Fox News hosts Sean Hannity and Jeanine Pirro joined President Trump on stage at his final campaign rally of the midterms, singing the president's praises and urging attendees to vote Republican.
"I have a few people that are right out here, and theyre very special," Trump said, teasing their appearances. "Theyve done an incredible job for us. Theyve been with us from the beginning, also."
Trump, who has a well-known penchant for Fox News programming, proceeded to call Hannity on stage, even though the Fox News host tweeted earlier in the day that he "will not be on stage campaigning with the President."
While Hannity and Pirro are vocal Trump supporters and frequently speak to him, it's unusual for cable news anchors to give candidate-style speeches at campaign rallies.
On stage, Hannity promptly decried the press in attendance as "fake news," and echoed the president's mantra of "promises made, promises kept."
Shortly before taking the stage, Trump spoke with Hannity during his 9 p.m. show. The two men talked about Trump's campaign efforts, and commiserated over the country's immigration laws.
Hannity lamented that Trump missed his opening monologue while he was traveling, but the president reassured him that was not the case.
"I saw it on the plane," Trump said. "I never miss your opening monologue. I would never do that."
As Trump took the stage, Hannity high-fived White House communications director and former Fox News executive Bill Shine, who was observing the event from the wings of the arena.
Trump also called on his "friend," Pirro, to take the stage, introducing her as "Justice Jeanine."
"If you like the American that [Trump] is making now, youve got to make sure you get out there tomorrow if you havent voted yet," Pirro, host of "Justice with Jeanine," implored the crowd.
Another Fox News host, "Fox & Friends" host Brian Kilmeade, last month acknowledged that he mistakenly donated roughly $600 to the Trump campaign. Keith Olbermann, an outspoken liberal, was suspended by MSNBC in 2010 for donating to Democratic candidates.
Trump's rally in Missouri was his third of three campaign stops on Monday as he sought to boost GOP Senate candidates prior to Election Day.
At each event, Trump introduced prominent surrogates who whipped the crowd into a frenzy.
Ivanka Trump, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and White House counselor Kellyanne Conway appeared at multiple rallies, including in Missouri, and conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh also introduced the president in Missouri.
GOP will sweep the Senate.
Democrats expected to clinch the House.
No one has ever been surprised by the conventional wisdom.
Because Hannity & Judge Pirro are NOT anchors of news shows, the host OPINION shows. But facts don't matter to the lying Fake News Media.
Fake news media are Democrat cheerleaders.
They give campaign-style speeches for Democrats whether or not its an election year.
The hypocrisy of it all.
Agree! But the distinction between straight news and opinion has eroded to the point that nearly every major “news” story these days is largely opinion. When I worked in print journalism years go, editorializing in a news story was a firing offense. Now we have professional political hacks like George Stephanopoulos pretending to be fair and balanced reporters. As Hannity says, American journalism is dead.
Dems won’t take the house.
Depends on turnout.
Nobody knows yet which side will get its voters out to the polls.
By the afternoon, when they leak the exit poll projection, we should have some idea of how the night will unfold.
I like the sound of “Justice Jeanine”. To me it sounds much better than Justice Ginsberg or Justice Sotomayor. Ginsberg looks like death warmed over and Sotomayor has been hauled off unconscious in the last few months after her blood sugar dropped.
I hope you are correct.
Jeanine Pirro should be our Attorney General.
They will need trump to fill the stadiums the NFL can’t
Foxnews commentators are not news journalists any more than those on CNN or MSNBC. They openly admit this unlike those on the other networks. So what’s the issue?
Hah......nice jab at the kneelers.
“Theyve been with us from the beginning...”
Hannity first supported Rubio. Then he supported Cruz.
If you call that “from the beginning”?
Rush was borderline ANTI-Trump (also a Cruz guy). He was/is controlled by his GOPE handlers.
Piro was “with us from the beginning” I believe.
