It is a shame and imo perhaps the perfect piece of evidence that shows the media’s lack of impartiality and indifference to journalistic ethics.

Here was a very compelling, national story. It took up weeks of news cycles. And there was an obvious interest by the public. It was a mystery; this woman with an accusation but no corroboration and a vehement denial by the accused. How none of the mainstream media had any inclination to follow these leads and report on the man who claims he was involved in a very similar incident with the same woman, in the same location, at about the same time; who described many of the same details (small party, small upstairs room, bathing suit, dogpile, etc) could be ignored is just amazing.

It is too big of a journalistic lapse to have been merely overlooked. The media all marched in lockstep to keep this from being reported. They surely knew about it as it was reported and in the congressional record. I can think of no reason to have not reported it other than bias. It was in large part corroboration of the story itself which in many ways would have served to protect Dr. Ford. The story itself was so empty without corroboration. Many people thought she may have had an experience but got the wrong guy. She was treated unfairly by the Democrats, but not as unfairly by Kavanaugh. This was a story that could have saved everyone a lot of trouble. But in so doing it would have undercut the Democrat’s agenda which was a calculated political scheme. The media showed they were completely in their pocket. The attack on Kavanaugh was part and parcel of their larger anti-Trump campaign, to show GOP/Trump as anti-woman, to serve as the backdrop for the bought and paid for protests that they hoped would result in political victory.

Then again perhaps this, like the phony Russia-Collusion story and a few others backfired on them big time and led to the crashing of the blue wave and, I hope, the rise of a red wave for the mid-terms. Lindsay Graham’s shining moment “y’all just want power and I hope you don’t get it” wouldn’t have happened. The Dems were patently unfair in the way they treated Kavanaugh but the media hype fed more anger on the other side than it helped their own. The media doesn’t seem to learn.

I'd like to see the email chain or listserv where this was all coordinated.
