"They aren't breaking up.....they're catching rides and meeting in Mexico city ..where they will wait for the stragglers and other groups. The city has a stadium with food, medicine, clothing blankets etc all ready for them ..in fact the first 500 arrived yesterday."
That certainly sounds plausible. Do you have any other information about the stadium and supplies?
