It may not be easy for Democrats to take the House majority, as they have to win a string of districts in Republican territory and get strong turnout, but they head into Tuesday in position to do so even if narrowly. CBS News ran three scenarios. Scenario one is our best estimate as of today: 225 Democratic seats just beyond the 218 needed for a majority to 210 Republican seats, with a margin of error of plus or minus 13 seats on each, keeping the possibility open that Republicans retain control...

Get on FOREX and throw money against the peso if the Rs win!
I think that range is 212 to 232
sorry, 212 to 238 range
210 is just inside the 8-15 seats I have them projected to win (213 total)
Larry. How many seats do you see us picking up? Not net, but D seats to R?
It is supress the vote day for the media..
It took 5 people to write this article. Usually the more authors, the more BS.
What BS from CBS! They are scared!
I was just going to post the same. Whenever Dems go out on a limb, they use multiple people to negate the blame. Gonna be interesting tomorrow.
Back in the day when everyone had land lines, they kept up the appearance of objectivity.
Cell numbers dont have a phone book to look them up. Their are no public records unless you expose it yourself.
Who gets polled, and how? I dont know anyone that has been polled, and I have been around a bit.
Red tsunami coming, and everyone I know is voting. Dont take chances.
And they still blew the headline.
Currently the Demon Rats have 193 seats in Congress. If they "Gain 210 to 255" they will have 403 to 418 seats.
(Yes, I know what they meant, but it was not what was said.)
Rasmussen has Rs up by one in the generic House competition THIS MORNING, one day before election with the trend their way. Dunno, I saw the IBD/TIPP poll as well which shows a 9 percent D generic lead today. But you also see “experts” like Nate Silver and CBS News cutting their losses and covering their bets.
did SeeBS give this much nailbiting and ra-ra for the GOP to retake Congress in 2012?
I’ve had FReepers say that this is the angle anytime a party is out of power and the opposition party has the white house but that isn’t how I recall things seeing as how Rats ruled the House and Senate for much of the 20th century.
We were told “America threw a temper tantrum” in 1994.

“as they have to win a string of districts in Republican territory and get strong turnout”
How’s THAT going to happen?
Cheat?
The first time I read this, I did not see "land lines". What I saw was "land mines" and thought to myself, "Well, if everybody had land mines, of course there's going to be an appearance of objectivity ...
There was never a blue wave. It was a fantasy dreamed up by the media.
Five people to write this crep?
I’ve posted this 100 times.
I expect Ds to net gain 8-15 seats (they will win probably about 18, then lose some back in MN, probably AZ and NV)
