Nancy Sobin knows her way around paperwork. She started her own business three years ago, helping small business owners and elderly clients manage their finances. That's when she turned to the Obamacare exchanges for health coverage.
"I was fortunate enough, because I was just starting my business, to get a subsidy and it was pretty good insurance" for about $300 a month, said the owner of Professional Paperwork Services in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
But as her business improved, her insurance options changed last year.
"I didn't get the subsidy anymore, because my business went well," Sobin explained. So, she switched plans to "the least expensive one I could get and it was $750 a month."
With the Nov. 1 start of 2019 open enrollment on the Affordable Care Act exchanges, the New Jersey native says it looks like she may have to change coverage again.
"My same plan looks like it's going to be about $150 more per month" in 2019, or $900, she said.

In my neck of the woods we are down to one provider this year after checking the Obamacare website. Looks like BCBS pulled out. Monthly rates didn’t change that much, but it looks like deductibles went up..
after increasing thousands of $$$ every year my health plan at work increased barely $100 this year (annually)...
In my part of NC BCBS is the only provider for private insurance policies. Deductible is up $100 per person ($6700) and premium is going up $150 per month to $2452 per month. So much for “affordable” health care. I’d much rather have the $650 per month, $5000 deductible plan I had before Obamacare was passed.
Why hasn’t the GOP attempted to repeal Obamacare since McCain’s death? Force the Dems to explain it during an election year. Could it be this is like open borders, a concept they claim to the voters they are against but quietly support for the big donors?
You raise a good point. Kyl replaced McCain. They should have tried it again unless someone else was ready to back out..
>> That’s when she turned to the Obamacare exchanges for health coverage.
To imply she had a choice.
CNBC is Comcast
Good observation.

Socialist medicine mandates mountains of paperwork, that does nothing to deliver any healthcare. But it does cost serious money.

We had one here last year in my area. This year I was surprised to see there were three.
It’s interesting how most of the discussion about how bad the plans are center on the high deductibles or premiums. My issue is none of my doctors, and I mean NONE, are in the networks for these plans.
I called a couple of my doctors to confirm, thinking maybe the info on the obamacare and provider sites might be outdated, but they all said the same thing. To find a doctor who accepts these plans would mean traveling to the inner city near me (not even the city in which I live) because none in my area that they knew of take any of the plans.
Why hasnt the GOP attempted to repeal Obamacare since McCains death?

That’s exactly why. The Koch Bros. types agree with Soros more than they disagree. Socialized medicine, open borders, etc. They love it all.
They know they'll have more republican senators after the mid-terms. Then they'll use it again as a campaign issue for 2020. Something will get passed in the summer of 2020.
So I should subsidize her business?? Sorry. No.
Then she might be ripping Obamacare off which many people are doing. Especially small businesses.
The insurance part of Obamacare is so small that we don’t hear about bad outcomes. Medicaid is much bigger. I don’t recall ever seeing one negative report about Medicaid in recent memory..
People get so confused between actual health care from a medical professional, and a risk-gambling middleman (insurance co) who provides no actual medical care.
The year before Obamacare, I had brain surgery with hospitalization, and a couple of the kids needed to see a doctor or get an x ray that year too as usual. At the end of the year, I added up our decent insurance coverage costs, plus our 20% copays and deductibles. And contrasted it to if we had paid CASH for all the treatment including brain surgery, meds, hospital, surgeon, etc.
It would have been less costly to pay cash that year for our medical care!!!!
I switched to a health share and never went back. Insurance is too expensive and too many rules to follow. Forget it.
I told my doc Im paying cash, out of pocket. Got a discount.
$2452/month??? Is this a typo?
The leftards called it Trumpcare. Now it’s back to Obamacare.
Why would Medicaid (not medicare) beneficiaries ever report negatives. Being a fully taxpayer funded health care entity why would anyone gripe? No premium, no deductible, no co-pay, full dental and eyecare and prescription. Of course no one would utter a negative. Unless you're in the ER and the family unit in the waiting room with grandma, mon, dad and 5 kids griping about the wait time because 7yr old Jose has a runny nose and the folks brought in by ambulance are getting in ahead of them.
