Democrats -- one presumes -- sent out a false-flag mailer encouraging voters to vote for the libertarian in the race, billing him as the "true conservative" choice.
Well, the Libertarian candidate himself realized he was being used dishonestly as a catspaw for Tester.
So he's quit the race and endorsed the Republican, Matt Rosendale.
The libertarian candidate had been polling at 4% or so; coincidentally enough, 4% is about Jon Tester's lead over Rosendale.
So this could turn out to be a dirty trick that sinks the dirty trickster.
In this environment why you would consider voting something other than Republican?
They are doing the exact same thing in Indiana - promoting the Libertarian candiate as the “lower taxes” choice.
Hillary would get elected governor next week if she was running
Because Molinaro-R doesn’t stand a snowball’s chance in hell of winning.
wny is correct. Hillary would take this state if she ran for governor.
It’s such a lost cause.
On a bright note, our rep, Katko-R, is HUGELY popular. He’s been very good, and judging by the lawn signs, is going to mop the floor with Balter.
I normally don’t do it, but this one time I am seriously considering going with Sharpe.
You actually think President Trump is such a dupe that he would campaign 3 times in MT for someone who, in your words, is a sure loser?
Seesh.
I’m talking about NY.
Oh, sorry
Montana does not have a large population and the population is concentrated in the cities and the universities are alt-left just like the rest of the USA...U of Montana in Missoula, Montana State in Bozeman. Plus, there are a lot of wealthy leftist who have moved into the state...Hamilton and the Bitterroot Valley, lots of far left goofy celebrities have 'ranches' in the state.
Butte is an old union town left over from the mining days...still operating copper mine in Butte, and heavy union organized and left-leaning.
Don’t sweat it.
Going back, I see the conversations crossed. It was easy to get confused.
There are maybe a few races where if something came out, I could change my vote without it being an issue.
Otherwise, I vote pretty much for the R candidate, only on another party line.
Tester is dead meat! Oddly the only reason Tester did this is internal polling told him he would lose. This was desperation that has failed.
We have many public polls that are really just political polls with prejudice and should be ignored. Candidates pay big money for private polls that tell them the real truth. Tester knew he was going down and thus his desperation. It has backfired most greatly!
