"It’s no coincidence that “Anchors Aweigh” is the only military anthem that specifically mentions drinking."

Really? Without Googling, what part says that? I've heard it dozens of times, but guess I never paid attention thinking it was the weakest military cadence hymn. Yet I could pretty much recite the Marine Corps hymn lyrics, maybe even much of the Army's hymn lyrics. Also, know the first to the Air Force.

What a pathetic former Sailor. Still, I yam what I yam. Got knot?

Anchors Aweigh, my boys,
Anchors Aweigh.
Farewell to foreign shores,
We sail at break of day-ay-ay-ay.
Through our last night ashore,
Drink to the foam,
Until we meet once more.
Here’s wishing you a happy voyage home.

I didn’t serve, but am “honorary crewmember” of Sargo-SSN 583. At the first reunion someone told me “You can drink like a Bubblehead!” I’m still not sure if that was meant to be a compliment or an admonishment to seek help.
