Australia has to develop its own nuclear weapons arsenal so countries like Indonesia can’t blackmail into opposing things of no concern to them in Israel.
Indonesia’s leaders today apparently learned nothing from the attempted Indonesian Communist Party and their Red Chinese agents on the island coup of 1965. Instead of welcoming Australia as a defense partner against the real threat, Red China, they are playing the “I’m the largest Islamic nation in the world” role in opposing Israel having its capital where it wants to.
Indonesia is a big enough country to tell the other Arab/Moslem countries to back off, but they won’t. Their blind allegiance to Islam is what keeps them a second or third rate nation (where Soviet disinformation against a US-aided vaccination campaign against polio was stopped for months by superstitious local leaders who believed the Red-created attacks on the US effort).
There would be so much more peace in the world if countries like Indonesia stood up and said that “We want to join the 20th century, no less the 21st century”, but they won’t. That is their tragedy, and yet when another tsunami hits them with tremendous casualties, it will be the US Navy (with Jewish sailors in it), who will respond in time to save tens of thousands of lives, like they did about 10-12 years ago. And what the Indonesian bigots don’t know or want to acknowledge is that some of the life-saving methods for rescuing people trapped in collapsed buildings were created by the Israelis for all to have and use.
Bigotry and stupidity is unbefitting a potentially major nation in that part of the world.
Problem with that notion of “joining the twentieth century” is the subjective definition; some may take that as joining the second world as a socialist state, and this is a move that many Islamic nations made in that century.

To these people oppression is power. Liberty is the mortal enemy of oppression. For if there is freedom the oppressor’s power is no more.......
It would probably have been better if Indonesia had remained Hindu.
