Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said "everything is on the table" with regard to border security during the unveiling of a border wall project in California on Friday.
There is a photo of the wall at the link.
This is a real wall. Looks impressive. Check it out.

Should we hope they all congregate at that two mile section and don’t decide to walk around it?
$$$4.8 billion has been approved for the wall, so lots more wall to come.
Well yes.
It is sort of short. There is that.
But it seems to be about what we need, as far as what was built.
Now it just needs to be about 1500 miles longer. :D
What the heck is that? A picket fence? What a rip off. There’s no barbed wire on top. I bet a couple of dozen of them could topple it by pushing on it.
It needs to be taller, bigger, longer and a lot more golden.
This segment fills an area between a water obstacle (river) and the El Centro Border Crossing. It also takes the wall out past the edge of town to the West.
The Secretary announced that the other side of that border crossing will get eleven miles stretching East, starting early next year. That will wall off the whole Calexico/Mexicali urban area.
They can slap the frame of a large building up in two weeks?
...seems like a wall would less time than that?
Red tape? RINOcrats?
Why not use razor-style barbed wire? No way anything bigger than a mouse can get through it if it’s thick enough.
Those can be spread and breached with a 12 ton automotive hydraulic jack...
“Should we hope they all congregate at that two mile section and dont decide to walk around it?”
Sure! That makes sense, because that is the entire wall! </snark>
Come on, we have to start somewhere, and this is two miles done. It looks like the start of a big, beautiful wall.
“I bet a couple of dozen of them could topple it by pushing on it.”
These heavy steel bollards are filled with concrete and rebar, and set in steel reinforced concrete footings at least six feet deep. You can’t ram a speeding truck through them.
Doubtful.
Though beams go 12 foot or more into the ground and are embedded in concrete.
Anyone know the cost of the 2 miles of fence?
“Those can be spread and breached with a 12 ton automotive hydraulic jack...”
They are filled with concrete and rebar.
Bollards have been in service for many years, and are by far the most maintenance-free of any barrier. Breaching is very rare, takes a lot longer than with fencing, attempts are very apparent because of the see through nature of bollards (no cover to hide behind while working), actual breaches are easily detected (unlike flaps in fencing or sheet metal) and breaches can be quickly/cost-effectively repaired.
The DHS Secretary said the new Wall has classified technology built in. I wonder what it is? Nevertheless it looks like babies and small children could slide through those gaps.
The more important question is what is the cost of allowing criminal trespassing invaders into the country, suppressing wages, demanding food, housing, clothing, medical care, education {not in English} and crime?????????? The wall is chump change compared to the cancer we are allowing into this country.
But if you don't want a physical wall how about this.
1) Emergency legislation making it illegal for any taxpayer dollars to be use for ANY reason for ANY criminal trespasser. NO EXCEPTIONS.
2) Emergency legislation to impose a $100,000 fine per illegal hired by any company for any reason. NO EXCEPTIONS.
3) Eliminate the insane "Anchor Baby" scam. NO EXCEPTIONS.
