It is one of the biggest controversies this election cycle in Minnesota. The accusation of domestic abuse made against DFL Attorney General candidate Keith Ellison by his ex-girlfriend and party activist, Karen Monahan.
"I really had to grabble with coming out to share my story,” said Monahan. “I had to face my own fears, the fear of isolation, the smears, the lies, the threats-- that's hard to move through."
Monahan sat down for her first sit-down interview here in Minnesota with 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS after she came forward in August with allegations against Ellison.

I have heard that she remains reluctant to release the video because, in it, she is nekkid.

According to democrats an accusation 35 years old is very credible. Not so much when you are accusing the leader of the DNC apparently.

I saw a TV ad two days ago where Eric Paulson tied Keith Ellison to Paulson opponent, Dean Phillips. It was actually a good ad.
I can only hope that the rest of the GOP ticket (especially Johnson, Newberger and Housley) can find a way to tie Ellison to their opponents as well.
I can easily picture radio ads in the outstate areas as well as campaign mailers going out with a picture of Walz and Ellison together.

Ellison just announced her statements caused the pipe bombs.

In the video, it was “grapple”. Not a real, crisp, clear “p”, somewhere between ‘p’ and ‘b’

Pronouncing a little carelessly is different from having written it that way.
I listened to her interview. I don’t doubt that Ellison is a woman-abusing PIG. However, this girlfriend (to me) seemed a little too slick, polished, using all the correct-speak. She came off as being manipulative.
She was asked if she would ever share with the public this video that she claims to have. She said no. She was asked if she would ever share the video confidentially (like to a prosecutor or the police) and she was very evasive in her answer. She came off as being manipulative, more concerned about keeping all (including lucrative) options open, versus truly trying to seek justice. I felt like she may be trying to sell the video to TMZ or the Enquirer for a tidy sum.
I did not see this interview on video, heard it on the radio. Again, she seemed manipulative by some of the answers and non-answers she gave to questions.
Or the scribe of this story doesn’t know the difference between grabble and grapple. You need not write well to graduate from today’s journalism schools.
