Granted, I’m in a semi-rural area and rarely get around cities, but can only recall seeing about three Teslas on the road.
Ever.
Your gas tank holds about 200-400 miles of fuel.
How often would most drivers need to “fuel up” if that tank were topped off every morning? Very very few.
If you did blow thru 350 miles of gas in one day, and needed more, would it really pain you to wait 20 minutes instead of 5 for a full refill?
Your complaint is a marginal case, rarely an issue for most drivers most of the time. Yes it can be an issue, and the benefits tend to make that issue tolerable.
Insofar as EVs aren’t for everyone, well, you’ve got options.
It doesn’t take 20 minutes to fill a vehicle with fuel. It takes about 5.
It must be nice to have won the lottery and be able to take a leisurely 20 minutes to fill your car, eh?
Great, I just went 200 miles today towing 10K...
If they work for people in the cities great. however taking my tax dollars and kicking in on the purchase of one is nuts. No one helps me pay for my F250..
Pardon me if I try one more time with a much more politely worded question. This worthless, intellectually challenged troglodyte begs to know, o Prince Monkey Ball, ruler of Bois d'Arc, have you ever debased your regal personage and given Tesla the pleasure, nay the high privilege, of you having owned or driven a one of their worthless electrical conveyances?
Everywhere Tesla is located they are getting tax incentives, including transferable tax credits that can be sold for cash. Rich folks who can even contemplate cars in the price range of Tesla are getting subsidized by the taxpayer to buy electric cars. Without taxpayer money, Elon Musk would be running a small lemonade stand on the corner. He may be a loose cannon as CEO, but he is a master of collecting government handouts.
Around here...you would be mocked...and known. Or known and mocked....whichever.
But you ARE a jack ass.............
Your are being evasive, have you owned or driven one?
You can't speak.. either...jack ass..." Your are"????
Go take your Telsa and drive it into Mexico...and see how far your jacked ass can go................
All of your vitriol and personal attacks are quite concerning, do you need your meds?
If you are done with your childish fit and/or have taken your meds please answer my simple, non-threateni question: Have you ever owned or driven a Tesla?
Also, please quit talking about my "jacked ass" because it makes you sound all 'rapey' and I am shaking in my custom made baby seal leather boots!
When you can spell..JACK-ASS....I might answer...
Listen....You are an ass-hole. Plain as day....
I've been one myself...So I know what one looks like...
You started this....Personally I could care less about you...or Tesla.
I think Tesla is a non-starter....
YOU apparently have two things going here...you are invested $$$ in it ..or you think the Tesla way is the way....
I'd guess you have $$$ in it....and that's your gig.
Won more time. Have you ever owned or driven a Tesla? Cum on, it iz eazy. Just tipe "yes" or "no".
Hey Jack-ass....
What country do you live in?.....We speak English here,,,and write in English.
I'm done with you....You are a moronic ignorant jack-ass....
I hate to break it to the English professor but the word ‘jackass’ is not spelled with a hyphen. I mean you would have to be an asshole to spell ‘asshole’ like ‘ass-hole’ but I am sure that you spell it your own special way.
And, like a stubborn mule, you still have not answered a simple question and got all rude about it so, succumbing to my weaker nature, I went and took a gun to your little knife fight.
Peace out my angry brother.
You’re missing the point that “filling” at all is unusual for EVs.
Every morning you’re topped off.
Most people most days drive under 100 miles.
I’ll take a 20 minute fill up once every few months over 5 minutes (plus travel thereto!) every few days.
I don't think we will see that type of charging performance anytime in the near future. They are working on charging a 400 mile battery to 80% in about 15 minutes. I doubt that will be affordable technology for the masses anytime soon.
The simple fact is, if you depend on your automobile for regular transportation, you can’t afford a Tesla unless you also can afford a ‘normal’ car.
For a hundred years we’ve had cars that can be driven for hours, refueled in minutes, and then driven for hours again. You’ll never get Americans to switch in large numbers to any car that takes longer to fuel than it does to exhaust the fuel.
Yeah, Tesla is just killing it. That’s why I’ve NEVER seen one on the road. I saw a Rolls Royce this week but no Tesla.
What’s funny is that I can drive from Salt Lake City to Vegas in 6 hours, probably more like 7 including bathroom breaks and food. For the Tesla, that trip is an overnighter (or a REALLY long day) because the car can only make it 265 miles, then it has to recharge for 6-10 hours depending on the power source. Who the hell wants to take a road trip like that? I’d rather take 10 minutes to fill up, take a wizz, grab a road snack/drink, and hit the road again.
Ahahahaha!!!
Yeah, good luck with that. I guess you don’t plan on driving across Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, or Nevada. I have yet to see a charging station except for the one on my way to work that is ALWAYS empty.
