I dont answer the phone when I dont recognize the number. How many people are like me and how accurate can any poll be when this happens?
Same here. Too many spam calls. I don't answer if I don't recognize the number.

I don’t answer the phone unless the caller starts leaving a message. That’s because I get too many unwanted calls from those who are just trolling for money.

I guess that there are just too many telemarketers and robocalls, which have kept people from answering their phone directly. But that will hurt polling, too!

New York Times polls this year suggest a response rate of 1% to 5%. I cannot determine the political bias of the few respondents.
I too never answer the phone if I dont recognize the number. If it is important they can leave a message and Ill get back to them.
Same here, don’t recognize the number don’t answer. If they leave no message then the number is added to my block list. I’m sure that practice of non-answering unknown calls must be wide spread giving the increase in telemarketers and scammers. So how accurate can telephone polls be?
