... At Rasmussen Reports, which was the most accurate 2016 pollster, questions on Trump often see a spike in those who check "don't know."
Francis Coombs, Rasmussen managing editor, said, "In most surveys, you generally get 4 or 5 percent who say they are undecided, but if you ask about a controversial issue, particularly one involving Trump, that figure often jumps to the high teens 17 percent or 18 percent. That tells me that a lot of those people agree with the president but just aren't going to say it out loud."

I buy into your logic. We really do not know who is on the other end of the line or what their motives really are.
I do not answer the phone unless I can ID the number.
The last robo poll I answered I was a pro-life black lesbian conservative.
Our little town is too close to Kansas City. Lots of people want to pretend that they are sophisticated. They aren’t.
I just flat out lie to the posters if I have time.
I don’t answer the phone unless the caller starts leaving a message. That’s because I get too many unwanted calls from those who are just trolling for money.
Until recently, I thought that my phone habits were weird and standoffish. But then I read an article that said that I’m doing what most Americans do!
I guess that there are just too many telemarketers and robocalls, which have kept people from answering their phone directly. But that will hurt polling, too!
Same here. No political signs, my wife took off my Trump stickers from my car because of the job I do, I don’t want no craze person to confront me because I will put them in their place.
I’ve been contacted by Gallup twice in the last month on my cell phone. No idea how they got my number. I politely refused to answer any questions and hang up. You are correct about it being a wise precaution. Do not have your name or phone number connected to being conservative. I don’t do yard signs or bumper stickers because the left is violently unhinged. I know there are millions who think the same way.
I lie to them also. And it feels great. No one asked them into my house. Just because the phone rings I have to cooperative.
They just don't see what some pissant telepollster has to do with any of their personal beliefs.
Pee-off pollster!!
I love you.
They’re not saying it at all. The surveys are private for the respondents. The truth is that their only exposure to politics is what they see on TV.
You do like looong, I hope.
I won’t answer polls any more or if I did, I’d lie.
They claim they are anonymous, but they have the phone number they called.
They can figure out whose it is.
They are not truly anonymous.
Trump?
Jealousy.
Class envy.
He's rich and doesn't give a rip what anyone else thinks.
Here in Upstate (people’s republic of) NY, I would consider it an invitation to vandalism to put Trump or Republican anything on our property or vehicle.
Even here in mostly red Upstate, there are enough dem supporters to make it not worth the risk.
Looking forward to the day when we can cut loose of this place and move to freer pastures.
I’m glad I clicked on this thread and got to experience one of these special FR Laz moments, if only as an accidental witness. It’s like the Hallmark channel, but frightening.
Polls are worthless in the age of Trump.
Unless there is a response that includes “I support the Republican party only as a tool for President Trump to use to kill the current Republican party” it’s all BS.
As the leftists have double-downed on violence and harassment that number has even grown higher.
We need to eliminate the power of leftists to harass us. A great many of them have to be removed from corporate leadership, schools, universities, and government.
No political signs in my yard this year. Wifey is afraid unhinged Dems will harm her horses. I do not think that fear is unfounded.
Just need to stay beside signs with 6 pack and your shooting iron
Problem solved
I still have my MAGA bumper sticker on my 14 year old knock around truck. I would be afraid to risk the potential damage by having the sticker on my newer vehicle.
I live in a district with a competitive and controversial congressional race.
I’ve rec’d two pollster calls. I lie to them.
