Yes, will be interesting. Someone in this or another thread asked what we might expect of the military? While we might like the idea of them shooting people trying to cross the border, that's not going to happen and would be very bad optics. Push them back across the border? Reprise Cruz and Beck and welcome them with them teddy bears, soccer balls, and food? As much as I want the border closed and secured, how can the military do this from day one without killing a lot of people or passing them along. Last mass arrival ended up with 97% caught and then released into the US.
Maybe an ankle bracklet, government issued ID, released with promise to not work or ask for public assistance, else be permanently deported. No job, no public welfare, going home (even if we pay the repatriation) sounds like a more sober and promising choice.
