Both “Boarder”, and “Border” are correct spellings, but mean different things. Auto-correct is not going to flag either spelling, because they are both correct.
It’s up to writer, the human, to know the difference in their meaning.
You’re correct about the “autocorrect” on the Kindle.
It’s insane. I used to spend twice as long correcting the autocorrect when posting. It’s almost like it doesn’t understand the context of how a word is used in relation to the rest of the sentence.
