As the final two weeks of campaigning begin, Democrats hold an edge in both the gubernatorial and Senate contests in the key state of Florida, according to a new CNN Poll conducted by SSRS. Democratic nominee Andrew Gillum holds a wide 12-point edge over his Republican opponent Rep. Ron DeSantis in the race for governor, while the Senate contest is a closer matchup with incumbent Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson at 50% to Republican Gov. Rick Scott's 45%.

This is probably true. At least Putnam would be running an offense. I’m in a pretty safe district (but Tampa market) but the lack of a campaign by any Republican is amazing. I hope DeSantis pulls it out. It’s hard to say about Scott.

Someone needs to light a fire under DeSantis and Scott. I know Scott’s got his hands full with the hurricane, but the gop needs to suck it up for DeSantis and spend serious money. Gillum is no joke- he’ll destroy Florida. I’m not kidding- he’s a menace.
I’m avoiding watching the polls here, it’s bad enough listening to a couple coworkers gush...”he’s just like Obama”....they’re hoping he wins.
