So Canadian Ryan “quisling” Gossling and Brit. Claire “fraud citizen” Foy play Mr and Mrs Neil Armstrong in the floundering at the Theater movie First Man. Two more good reasons to NEVER see it.

She is a fine actress and did very well in the “Elizabeth” miniseries, which is worth a look if you like those BBC things. Its very well done on the whole, a sort of social commentary on postwar Britain, and very well acted and produced.
She is the sort of professional character actress the British make so well. She does posh superbly and, moreover, very realistically. There’s a reason the US is always importing these people.
Her professionalism in the acting line does not translate into sensible politics, any more than Vanessa Redgraves politics ever did.

Its a tribal matter on the whole, a question of belonging to a certain cultural group. A way, moreover, to distinguish oneself from the “other”. There can be a great cost in bucking the dogma of that tribe, if one makes a career in the industries dominated by them.

She is a British actress who thinks that makes her important.
That being said: I have seen her in Wolf Hall on PBS and she plays Elizabeth II in the Netflix series The Crown. She is a terrific actress and I have always enjoyed her work. I really wish she would have stayed focused on her work instead of straying into Trump Derangement Syndrome.
I would also like to point out to Ms Foy, that we had a Reveloutionary War so that we didn't need to care what Britain thought about us.

Civility will only return once the Dems are back in power. The first two years of the Obama administration were so utterly civil to conservative views. Unfortunately GOPeers were just as hostile.
