Last month, a few days after my six-year-old daughter started first grade, I was standing in the schoolyard, having just watched her walk off to her classroom, when I was accosted by another parent.
She told me that, given my conservative views, I should leave liberal California and move to Kansas, where Id learn how they treat Jews like me.
I asked her if she thought she was being tolerant. She replied: I am tolerant. I just hate you.
I have hesitated to write about that incident until now, because I did not want to escalate the conflict. But in the past several weeks, it has become clear that conservatives around the country are having similar experiences.

Scott Adams, the Dilbert cartoonist who has become a widely respected political pundit thanks to his understanding of methods of persuasion, often notes that fear is the most effective form of persuasion.
Trump has warned voters that Democrats are an angry mob and voters seem to agree, pushing up Republicans poll numbers. But polls do not vote and volunteers may be too afraid of the mob to do what is necessary to make sure Republican voters turn out on Election Day.
There is already anecdotal evidence from the field, where Republicans are reluctant to canvass their neighborhoods, or even put up yard signs, lest they face retaliation.

I think that this violence will backfire and mobilize conservative voters.
We just dont tip our hand, reveal our views, post lawn signs, slap on bumper stickers or answer polls.
Were Americas Walkaways.
The Democrats today are the Bully Party, they bully their minions as well as the opposition. Give them 100% power and many will work for the state both voluntarily and by force. Its the great pyramid of power to them. The Pigs will be on top with all the privileges.
BUMP!
that Rat bully is no different than the segregationists who told black families to move out of the neighborhood.
Seems to me that the Cali broad is already providing an abject lesson on how the Germans treated the Jews circa 1937.
Dont be the last to leave California. Come to MD we tolerate conservatives and respect the Jewish religion. its far from perfect but our Republican Governor has been great.
I live in a liberal area where its not prudent generally to advertise your political views.
That said, this author is wrong about what’s going on.
The democrats are going to suffer some seriously cruel and unusual punishment at the voting booths in a couple of weeks.
Most of the conservatives I know hunt, are NRA members, served in the military or are LEO.
I was a black belt long before I woke and became a conservative, must have been in the DNA.
What I am thinking is why are conservatives taking these beat down’s lying down?
Is it just me who trained so hard to defend myself and others?
We conservatives are peaceful but not pacifists. How much
more from the MOBS are we folks going to allow the draft dodgers to get away with?
I had no vote in California. Here in rural Colorado, my vote still counts.
Although the liberal idiots in Boulder and the Denver suburbs will probably install the Obama Mini Me Jared Polis as the next Governor.
It is a secret ballot: just dont tip your hand. Zero yard signs. Dems are the party of terrorism. Again: It is a secret ballot.
We've always been the SILENT majority. We let our votes speak for us.
Exactly.
Reluctance to volunteer to be a target does not translate into reluctance to break it off in their a$$ via the franchise.
The Denver suburbs. Denver its self is a war plan for a communist power base. The suburbs might chose the Republican path.
The media is fanning the unrest on cable news shows. The hate is in their eyes and minds. Can voters send a message to stop the anger and hate?
Win or lose, there is no turning back from the abyss. The mob will blame everybody for the loss and go bat sh!t crazy with power.
It seems that an Uncivil War may be our only salvation.
I have 2 DeSantis yard signs up, a Trump sign, Michael Waltz, too. Bumper stickers galore.
Course, I have dogs, security cams, and a 12 guage handy. Couple tattoos and a “don’t give a fuuk” attitude helps. I give as good as I get.
I volunteered to pass out voters guides election day near the poll station. F’em.
Alinsky: “Power is not what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.”
Fear is fine. Healthy, even. But if you fail to act in the face of it, there’s another word for it.
Rise up, people! MAGA and be proud!!!
But the voting booth is still private.
Yes, that is their version of tolerance.
