Being in IT I can guess the cause:
It was an implementation of a modification that ended up having a glitch that had to be fixed. Usually a system works flawlessly until a change is implemented and causes an unforeseen problem. They then either roll back the change or try to fix it in place.

I use it all the time for instructions on how to fix, install, or otherwise complete work. If I had needed it at the time it would have been a serious problem.

I used youtube to find out how to DIY the brake line replacement on my crappy Z71 Chevy pickup.
I pick it up from the dealership tomorrow, $1,000 poorer.

If you saw the page delivered in its place, it was hacked... quite likely by a disgruntled employee or former employee.
