Bogus report?
If one is to dismember a person in one's study, the you do not want to make a mess. Cutting up a live body would cause a mess from blood spillage, splatter and out right shooting of blood.
Best would be a controlled bleedout before or after death.
With the heart stopped and lack of blood in the body, dismemberment could proceed with minimal mess to clean up.
FYI, I do not butcher live deer in my kitchen.
That would be messy.
