Leave the Hemi idling for an hour or so to warm it up?

“Leave the Hemi idling for an hour or so to warm it up?”

Works for me.

I have to drive my SUV for a whole year to feed 4 acres of rain forest.

Leave the Hemi at idle with a suitably rich fuel-air mix, putting plenty of unburned hydrocarbons in the air....

Then when you gun it up, a beautiful cloud of black soot shoots out the exhaust stack.

The high concentration of particulate matter in the atmosphere will result in global COOLING.

Win-win.

My Dodge Ram pickup gets just as good of mpg as my old 1966 Mustang and it weighs twice as much. It also has a bunch more horsepower than my old 289 in the Mustang. These new computer controlled engines are marvels of engineering.

Back in the sixties I could tear those old engines apart and fix them and put them back together. Today I have no idea what to do with these new wonderful engines. I just take it to the shop and say “fix it.” Oddly these new engines are so incredibly good I rarely need to bring it to the shop. They are truly engineering marvels. But I must admit I still love the old 289.
