So let me get this straight you can only possess up to 30 grams of marijuana in Canada, yet they have dispensaries that have much more than 30 grams in storage. That doesn’t make any sense to me at all. Either you completely legalized it including seeds and let the people put themselves out of touch with reality for their entire lives and then those of us who choose not to partake can take over.

Well what do you say when they see a liquor store, cigarette shop, or a payday loan shack?

Dont be fooled... This is merely Step 1 and reproduction and mandatory distribution of Soma.

My mother sees them and asks what they are, which I have to quell in front of our 10yo son.

Really? What is your reaction as you drive by the dozens and dozens of liquor stores? The beer/wine aisle in the supermarket?

I am pissed because it’s legal in MD, and we have 2 of these stupid “dispensaries” within 2 mi on the major strip near our home. My mother sees them and asks what they are, which I have to quell in front of our 10yo son. Still too young to hear about it, I think.

Two years ago I traveled to Washington State. I partake, and so naturally I was interested in checking out the legal shops.

I came away very unimpressed with the ones I saw; they ranged from tawdry to outright sketchy. I eventually visited one, and while its employees were nice and informative and not off-putting, there was still that element of sketchiness about the whole transaction.

If anything, the pot shops I saw in Washington had the same essence as the ol' porno shops we used to have up here in southern New Hampshire in the strip malls along route 28. Sketch City.

Pot shops don't have to be like this. In Amsterdam, the best ones are just "clean, well-lighted" places that just happen to sell grass, along with coffee and Heineken.

Thanks for that wiki reference, because it's not like anyone who ever went to junior high or high school in the United States in the past 50 years is unfamiliar with Huxley's work.

My daughter lives near DC. It is legal to possess weed in DC but not legal to sell it. So sellers take a $100 donation in exchange for some weed....which is the same as buying.

It’s a recipe for disaster.

In Denver the shops were very professional, but the quality of products was, shall we say, "middies".

I agree; that's plainly stupid.

I was in Aspen recently and saw only one pot shop and the place was empty. But the line at the ice cream shop was wrapped around the block.

I’m not convinced that reliance on marijuana is a good thing. It’ll take a few generations to learn the full impact on peoples health

Inhaling smoke can't be good.

1. Drive to Detroit.
2. Head south to Canada.
3. Wait. What?

Maybe he says “There are lots of people who like to get steaming drunk and then get in the car and drive to the next bar for more liquor. Thousands of people are killed every year by drunk drivers. Now the drooling potheads can get high legally because being drunk and stoned in the U.S. is a really popular form of recreation.”

This is going to be fun. A bunch of Americans are going to go up there, get some pot and Brador, and see signs that say ‘Speed Limit 100’.

Spain did that in the 80’s or 90’s and we had to send in Special Forces to train the Paramilitary to handle the drug problems.
