A lot of smart people believe that Elizabeth Warren, the senator from Massachusetts, is the front-runner for the Democratic nomination in 2020. A recent New York magazine profile by Jonathan Chait claimed that shes winning the invisible primary building campaign networks, rolling out policy proposals, wooing insiders, intimidating rivals.
*snip*
I am not a Democratic insider or a campaign professional, so for all I know Warren may indeed be impressing her intended audience.

But running for president in the age of Donald Trump requires, above all, an ability to handle what John Heileman and Mark Halperin once called the freak show (back when it was considerably less freaky). It requires a deftness dealing with scandals and gaffes and accidental blunders, an ability to know when you have a wrestling move that justifies getting down in the mud and when youre better off sitting on a top rail and acting superior to the pigs.

[W]hat Warren should have done when the story resurfaced, what she obviously should have done, was to simply express mild regret for letting her enthusiasm for family lore carry her away into identifying as someone who might possibly receive affirmative-action consideration, apologize to Cherokee groups for any offense, and literally never speak of the matter again. And if and when Donald Trump started up his Pocahontas jibes, she should have simply ignored him and talked about the many issues where hes on the wrong side of public opinion.

The New York Times acts as if Donald Trump is the freaking a freak Show. They cannot consider the possibility that the people see Donald Trump is the ringmaster pointing out the freaks. So yes it is a freakshow but who are the freaks. The left’s inability to grasp or even consider the possibility that Donald Trump is not the freak but they have freaks on their side is what makes this so delicious. Elizabeth Warren is a freak and this whole Indian b******* is a freak
:-D
That sounds oddly icky, BTW. ;)

I just went and read the whole article. Actually the guy does nail it pretty solid about this whole Warren Fiasco. So to an extent I take back my former comment that I had written
Time to swiftboat her sorry ass.
“...so she gets a pass.”
In a different previous decade, she would have been forced from office, and the university would have fired her. Despite the “pass” she is getting, any presidential aspirations are toast in 2020 - even if she is the nominee. HRC’s history of lies and deceit were not the only factor against her, but still were a significant with a large number of voters.
Perhaps what Warren has done is open the Pandora’s box on how science should be used to define race ... and a lot of the race hustlers are not going to like that discussion.
Rhetorical questions are FUN.....
Because Trump owns them and his trolling proves it

I liked the movie enough to buy a copy. That said, the F&I War was 17541763. My 8G-grandfather (which is what we’re talking about with 1/1024) was born in 1630. Perhaps a still from a movie featuring Squanto?
I thought she proved her Indian heritage. Her childhood home was on Cherokee Lane.
Hah! Good one.
That gives me shivers. It locks up the dummy vote, the estrogen vote (but I repeat myself) and the POC vote.
Sanders. He rightfully won the nomination last time and he’s going to come back loaded for bear and his supporters are the crazy ones that are stirring up all of the unrest. Bern baby Bern!
I was going to go out on a limb and suggest that Jerry Brown might be a dark horse for the Democrats. However, he'd be 82 in 2020.
Still, Biden will be 75, and Sanders will be 79 when the 2020 election comes around.
Donald Trump will be 74.
Another prominent Democrat governor is Andrew Cuomo (will be 62).

I'm not sure about "scoring," but if you're suggesting that it was Elena Kagan, she was the Dean from 2003-2009 and Warren was hired in 1995.
Am I missing something?
