Where did you get that malarkey? Lee was offered the Army by Lincoln and turned him down to fight for his homeland and family, Virginia. He was the greater General and by far the better man! BY FAR!

His campaign into Pennsylvania was ill-advised, and he didn’t listen to better advice and not fight at Gettysburg, but he felt the Army of NoVa as invincible, and that he could end the war there with one battle.
