And to think....this was HER show. SHE created it...SHE made all those actors, SHE paid them handsomely, SHE made them all a success.....and they betrayed her, condemned her and then stole her show and acted without her. Disgusting.
Note to advertisers: If you run ads on ABC, we will shun your crap.
Period.
Same thing happened to Valerie Harper in the '80s. She created Valerie and then was fired in a contract dispute. The show then became The Hogan Family and continued for four seasons. The Hogan Family was never anywhere as good as Valerie.
IMO, The Connors will be much worse compared to Roseanne than The Hogan Family was to Valerie. The Connors will last one season and then be quietly cancelled.
Wow. I didn’t think about it that way. But you are absolutely right!
Also: she has been championing women and racial diversity in Hollywood since b4 it was cool.
I guess youre not apprised of current licensing law. I assure you, she was paid HANDSOMELY for the right to use her intellectual property.
Absolutely. She was gracious enough to step aside so they could all make their money. And not ONE of them stood by her side. Shameful.
#4. Hey, what did you expect of the perennial loser ABC (All About Cowardice)? If the IQ’s of the leaders of ABC, NBC and CBS were combined for the criteria of common sense, common decency, and professional ethics, it would come out to be a MINUS 20.
There was a time when I would watch the comedy shows on all three networks regardless of their political orientation, which was often quite noticeable, but not grossly offensive.
I even watched Norman Lear productions except Murphy Brown (which I felt was juvenile despite having good actors and actresses).
“All In the Family”, “Sanford and Son”, “SOAP”, etc. All skewered some sacred cows but it was done in taste and had class.
Today’s shows (for the most part) are juvenile, tasteless, classless, and often just downright offensive and stupid.
I don’t think I’ve watched a regular season show in about 8 years.
Damned I miss Benny Hill”, “Black Adder”, “Monty Python”, and “Seinfeld”. All class, no ass.
