Harry had a lot of songs in the Warner Brothers catalog that didn’t make it into a film. The animation division at Warners would then feature one of these songs in a cartoon to sell sheet music and get artists to record it. Think of it as an early music video. These became a staple of children’s television at the local level in the Fifties, and Baby Boomers can still remember some of the tunes today. Note that one of the animators was Bob Clampett, who created Beanie and Cecil decades later. Tex Avery, still going under the name Fred, would became a giant of the Warner Brothers animation division in later years. This is the original cartoon.
