Hot Air alum Noah Rothman pointed this out on Twitter this morning and I think he’s really onto something. While various hosts at CNN are engaged in arguments to defend the honor of left-wing protesters running people out of restaurants, it was pretty common to see the Tea Party described as a mob 7-8 years ago. Here are some examples:
Sep. 2010 – Rolling Stone’s Matt Taibbi: “Beneath the surface, the Tea Party is little more than a weird and disorderly mob, a federation of distinct and often competing strains of conservatism that have been unable to coalesce around a leader of their own choosing.”
June 2010 – NY Times Opinionator: “In a bracing and astringent essay in The New York Review of Books, pointedly titled “The Tea Party Jacobins,” Mark Lilla argued that the hodge-podge list of animosities Tea party supporters mention fail to cohere into a body of political grievances…He calls Tea Party activists a “libertarian mob” since they proclaim the belief “that they can do everything themselves if they are only left alone.”

The MSM has been the propaganda arm of the Democrat party and Deep State for decades.
I still have my issued mob-like torch, fueled and ready to go. The wife is particular to the 4-tine spading fork but it will ‘pitch’ things nicely within specifications.
The left uses provocateurs to show up at Conservative rallies with racist and misspelled signs. The media rushes to them to take photos and for comments. The photos of racist and misspelled signs are displayed with the article along with the racist comments of the liberal provocateur.
They also attend rallies to provoke Conservatives and they're ready with their phone cams to show how they were 'attacked'.
Any trouble you see at Conservative rallies are likely caused by liberal provocateurs.

yup- i was an active member of the Tea Party and went to many rally’s...no violence, no calls for violence, people cleaning up after the event...
In one case the Richmond Tea Party paid the city $10,000 for security and police overtime only to have the money returned after the occupy wall street dirtbags held a rally and paid nothing...

They also labeled GOP poll watchers during the Florida Recount a “mob.”
In fact, IIRC, they called them a “screaming mob.”
