Oh, I’m extending a hand, but only part of one. A single finger. Guess which one.

Good sportsmanship applies to sports. It doesn’t apply to street fights. This was a lynching of a good man for cheap political advantage and it must be punished if we are going to have less of them in the future.

I couldn't agree more. Our enemies - the term "opponents" is too honorable to apply - our enemies understand moderation as weakness and an olive branch as something to be grabbed whilst delivering a sucker punch. No more of that. When once again this devolves into honest political discourse we must be ready to engage honestly. That, at this point, is a distant hope.
