The only Democrat who appears fully equipped at this point to vanquish Donald Trump in a presidential election made it perfectly clear late last month that she fully intends to do so. (And she got out ahead of Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), who all-but-announced his own bid in Iowa this past Saturday.)
For the last two years, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has been steadily building toward this vital rescue mission, readying herself for the one election in all our lifetimes (let us hope) that will actually live up to the quadrennial most important election in American history since 1860 hype. Warrens early moves position her as a clear front-runner, Jonathan Chait wrote last month at New York, thanks to a well-designed strategy to compete across the spectrum of the Democratic Party without risking her viability in a general election.

The big question: Will President Trump have to face the Indian or the Gladiator in 2020?
...and that’s nothing us *real Okies* are proud of, either.
Her husband?
This rag is still around?
She soooo fits Rolling Stone.
Liies? Yup.
Dumber than a rock? Yup.
Never had a real job? Come on, need we ask that, she’s a senator and had a token professorship at the School of Untalented Diversity?
I’m afraid for what happens if she were to win.
Warren and Booker vying for 2020 Democratic nomination. That’ll be interesting to see them compete for Sander’s support and supporters.
I don’t think we can totally dismiss Warren as a viable Presidential candidate or VP pick. She really does have two big things going for her...
1. The MSM which, believe it or not, will fawn all over her in ways that Hillary Clinton never got.
2. The Female Vote. By that, I refer to soccer moms who want to “feel” like someone’s looking out for them and Millennial women who want to “feel” like someone’s looking out for them. Also included in that group are the radical drum-beating feminist element.
Those groups alone can’t carry her to victory - but they will take her a long part of the way there.
If I had to pick one candidate who I would take most seriously as a contender, it'd probably be Andy Cuomo. He's fairly ruthless, very corrupt and he's been practicing running for president for decades.
His downsides are he's corrupt, he's a bit dumb, he lost $56 billion at HUD (actually claims he doesn't know where it is), he's white, another NYer for President might be too much.
They literally have nobody worth fearing, and Andy's the closest I could come to thinking of one. Biden's brain damaged and metooy; Booker is fruity, dumb and funny looking; Seriously, what a crew.
I, Pencil is an article written in 1958 by Leonard E. Read. The burden of the article is how diffuse are the inputs to make a simple item like a pencil. Of course a particular company - Eberhard Faber, in the example instance - made the pencil. But Mr. Eberhard and Mr. Faber did not simply speak the pencil into existence; the company has to have buildings housing machinery, and workers to operate the machines. But beyond that, the Eberhard Faber workers have to have food, shelter, and normal amenities - including those required by their families. And the same is true of the vendors who supply Eberhard Faber with the machinery they require, and all the obvious materials - wood, graphite, rubber, and the ferrule material and the enamel. All those vendors have their own equipment, workers, and supply chain. And in all cases the workers need food, shelter, and normal amenities. So although the pencil certainly does not exist without Eberhard Faber, society works together to make pencils - and everything else.
So, You didn't build that? Somebody else made that happen? Yes - but that somebody else was not government. The somebody was more like everybody - mostly very indirectly. It is not the government but society - as Thomas Paine points out in Common Sense, a very different thing - which makes the pencil.
Government planning is merely interference in societys subtle workings by people who have nowhere near the competence needed to make such large decisions and be responsible for them. It is nothing more than the irresponsible separation of responsibility from authority, in violation of the first principle of good management. Improvement in efficiency via government planning is a paper tiger.
rolling stone is a communist rag.
She's a laughing stock as it is now...my god, that would be savage.
I expect the economy will be shattering a lot of records by 2020.
Which presents a danger when your opponent is someone like Warren. They will go out and make the argument “yes, but that new wealth is not trickling down to YOU fast enough!”
And they will find a lot of greedy and stupid people who buy that.
Have seen it on the state and local level too many times.
Chief Ass so Big.
Oh, my, you can't say THAT!
Most Freepers won't know that another Massachusetts Rat,Deval "Coupe Deval" Patrick, has also made it clear that he's planning to run.To sum up Couple Deval's political career so far all I need to say is "affirmative action" (yes,he's "of color").
