We call our country the United States. They call it los Estados Unidos. Thats how different languages work-differently.

True, but they also call Mexico “Estados Unidos”.
Los Estados Unidos Mexicanos.
They call the US “Los Estados Unidos de América” for differentiation, or simply EEUU.
I understand that the words Estados Unidos appear in the official names of both countries. Id be willing to bet that when asked most Mexicans would say that the USA is what they think of when they hear the phrase.
No matter how you slice it, the words are different in English and Spanish. That was my point.
