What minority class(es) is being protected?
*****
“The U.S. Marshals Service did not elaborate on where the children were located”
Wealthy politicians?
Wow. Thanks for posting this. Wonder where they were found? Wayne County?
I really want to see the Clintons linked to stuff like this. They couldn’t pull the “but everybody does it” excuse.
It still amazes me that this stuff is so widespread here an now!
I think of human or sex trafficking as something that happened in the dark ages, or in third world countries. It’s so messed up
Score one for the good guys
Misleading.
..Authorities began investigating all missing child cases prior to the operation. They then began investigating the children’s whereabouts by visiting last known addresses, friend’s homes and schools in hopes of finding them in a safe place.
Out of 301 files of missing children, 123 were identified and recovered safely during the operation...
...Three cases were identified as being possible sex trafficking cases. One homeless teen was turned over to Child Protective Services.
107 found in Wayne County.

How do 123 kids go missing and it’s not national news?
A couple here, a couple there, over time...a local story at best.
It has always been prevalent.
But until the Reagan administration gathered a diverse group of reporters together and showed them pictures of tens of thousands of children being used by pedophiles which had been siezed from an off shore computer bulletin board by Interpol, the prevailing thought was that hushing these things up to prevent a panic was in the best interest of the public.
You might say that the Ed Meese Commission On Pornography (which had broad authority, but was primarily aimed at pedophiles) engineered a change in how these things were handled by journalists and law enforcement.
At any rate, none of this is new. The change is that it has been hauled out of the darkness, into the light of day.
There has been more than double trafficking arrests in the past 18 months than the previous 8 years combined.
Only 3 were trafficking. Meaning the rest were runaways, not likely. More likely living with a non-custodial parent.
Still 178 missing from the county, meaning they’re not close by. Those would be the likely runaways.
From fed marshalls page linked on another post: “prevention of their falling victim to sex trafficking.”
And think about this, tell a kid they will be killed or their family killed and they will not talk. Even an adult with an I.Q. of 80 or lower will probably not talk. I hope the kids running away were not abused, too. There are 178 still out there?
***the prevailing thought was that hushing these things up to prevent a panic***
I remember those days. The talk shows ran with the story. It got so bad that a dad could not take his kids to the movies without being arrested to make sure the kids were his, and every man seen with a kid was considered a potential kidnapper. It was also about the time the “satanic worship” and “child sacrifice” stories were going around.
I wouldn’t characterize it out into the light of the day. I don’t think of myself as overly sheltered or low-information, but I rarely see much of anything on this. That’s why seeing that they can round up over one hundred kids in one op blows my mind, if these are just the ones they can find. :(
The headline makes it seem they were all found in the same place, like one massive kidnapping ring.
