Except that the speech she gave was probably written for her and not be her staff, but by a conglomeration of the repub majority.
She worked her butt off on that speech. As someone who drafts questions and makes arguments, you don’t just rattle off what someone else wrote for you. That speech was from her deepest convictions.
The speech was well drafted, reading like a graduate level thesis. Written by a very good writer, most certainly, but deeply influenced by its titular author, Senator Collins.
Two of the Republic stalwart’s favorite kicking posts came out as heroes in this debacle. Collins and Graham did us proud. They stood staunchly on principle, disdaining the petulance of Schumer and his murder of crows.
“Except that the speech she gave was probably written for her and not be her staff, but by a conglomeration of the repub majority.”
Can we please stop with the unsubstantiated allegations now?
Senator Collins’ speech seemed heart-felt and a genuine expression of her own analysis. She may have had help writing it, but it was her speech entirely. That’s why it was all the more compelling. It is one of the great speeches in the Senate chamber. Hopefully it will be studied in colleges and law schools for generations to come.
You really don’t know how US senators and the US Senate operate, do you?
Still, despite Collins' most memorable speech, I believe Americans were most disgusted by Democrats
kneeling in obeisance to Ford after she testified. Democrats BJ'ing Ford on ntl TV was not a pretty sight.
Possibly, but it was a marvelous speech, and rang so true. And she delivered it with the statesmanship that the moment needed and deserved.
“Except that the speech she gave was probably written for her and not be her staff, but by a conglomeration of the repub majority.”
Following the Dems are we? making an assumption without any valid reason or support and for what purpose. What are you trying to say? That Collins really isn’t smart?
