Some bad things are happening:

1. Multiple predictions that this may be Cat 3 storm. There is even a prediction of it becoming Cat 4.

2. Time of landfall has been moved up to I believe Wednesday Afternoon from Wednesday evening.

3. The track of the hurricane has moved WESTWARD since I started this thread. Now appears that 'Panama City' will be very close to landfall of this storm. When I posted info at about 4am EDT this morning, it was about 50 miles East (or more) of Panama City.

4. An unusual aspect of this storm is that it is forecast to remain a Tropical Storm all the time it is ashore from landfall in Florida to where it exits onto the Atlantic Ocean.

Exit of this storm from inland US to Atlantic Ocean may be as a tropical storm in the vicinity of Norfolk.

Will the US Navy have to Sortie ships from Norfolk?

We are leaving early and topping off the tank before we hit the North end of FL. Just in case there is a run on gas.

Another unusual thing to happen this week is that Pacific Ocean Hurricane Sergio is supposed to hit New Mexico with the strength of a tropical storm.
