Uh no. Michael Avenatti had nothing to do with it. Democrats opposed Kavanaugh because of politics and not due to do the sex crap.
Had that never emerged, they would have still voted against him and the outcome would have been exactly the same.
But they’re big on excuses, aren’t they? Anything to keep a conservative off the Supreme Court. And the Rats would have done exactly the same thing no matter who Trump nominated.
Had nothing to do with Avenatti or with Kavanaugh’s own shortcomings or the lack of them. That was never the real issue.
Democrats attacked Kavanaugh with unsubstantiated malicious sleazy sex claims to try to brow beat a few fence sitting Republicans (and Democrats) into voting down Kavanaugh’s nomination.
secondary reason, delay the nomination process until after the election (or at least after early voting begins with absentee ballots and early voting at polls).
third reason, rally the base instinct Democrats (recall the perpetual outrage rallies, the women’s march, etc.). “Occupy” on legs. Get them fired up to go vote and to throat punch Republicans.
fourth reason, to convince “evangelicals” to sit out the election or maybe vote Democrat. This was the big reason for playing up “he drank demon beer!” In 2006 when all else failed, the DNC outed 2 gay Republican congressmen.
