I think you can take “very possibly” out of that statement. Churchill was the greatest, most important man of the 20th century. Without him, many of the other accomplishments of the century would not have occurred.

Exactly right. I was quite young when he passed away but i’ll never forget the headline in the local paper which read in the biggest typeface Man Of The Century Dies. The entire free world knew his impact at that point in time. An honorary US citizen to boot. An honor he said he cherished.
