To make the whole nation wait for her decision while she supposedly figured it out and then monologuing center stage for most of an hour was a bit melodramatic.
An hour of melodrama to reach the right decision was worth it.
It might have been melodrama, but the Republicans, and Kavanaugh most of all, needed that clear defense of his history as a man and as a judge. She laid her sympathy for Ford on too thick, but then pointed out clearly the gaping holes in Fords story.
I dont know if she wrote that speech, but it was a great speech, delivered well and at the right time. Kudos to her and to whoever built that plan, because it was masterful.
