It means that Daines does not have to miss his daughters wedding since her vote will not change the tally. Is there the possibility for a double cross here? For example, if Manchin changes his mind at the last instant if Daines isn't around? He'll be under a lot of pressure to do exactly that.

Is there the possibility for a double cross here? For example, if Manchin changes his mind at the last instant if Daines isn't around? The Senate vote is not final until announced by the presiding officer. It can be held open for as long as necessary to get him back if necessary.
I still think he should show up and do his job. Members of the military routinely miss important family events when their duty requires it and so could a member of the 100 person senate club.
