If the Senator does not grasp the HISTORIC importance of his being there to vote Yes for Judge Kavanaugh (and voting BEFORE leaving for the wedding), then something is clearly wrong with the Senator’s priorities. And that’s putting it mildly.

I think that, in order to qualify to even run for senate, a person should be required to complete an exhaustive examination on constitutional and civic responsibilities. At least as comprehensive as a nurses proctored exam in order to earn certification to hold public office.There should also be a system to manage them and hold them accountable with punitive consequences for dereliction of duty

Daines is doing what is BEST for Kav: allowing Murk to pair her vote.
That avoids any quorum problems.
Yeah Senate rules are idiotic to us, and Murk doesn’t deserve this consideration... but that’s how things are done.
Anyway, I hate to see Daines hit for doing what Mitch wants him to, for good reason.
