Unfortunately, the article doesn’t say that the judge really understood the separation of powers principle. The judge said he should have sued earlier.

The dangerous thing here is I don’t see any circumstance ever where a federal court would have the right to tell Congress that they can’t vote on something.

Exactly. An extremely shitty ruling by the Obama judge. The only proper ruling is, "If you don't like it, then withhold your consent and vote 'NO'. Court assesses costs to the plaintiff."
