My guess is because he’s probably got ties to big donors that can be spun doing the same sorts of things...
Hammer Manchin on voting against the Tax Cuts that put WV back to work.. and for voting for things that shut down coal during the Obama years... etc etc etc..
Manchin was the most likely red state D to survive this fall, even though I thought he would lose... after Kavanaugh fiasco, I can’t see any way, regardless of how he votes on Kavanaugh, that WV will re-elect him.
I did not know that Patrick Morrissey was originally from New Jersey. That seems to be really hurting him with West Virginia voters. East Coast carpetbagger and all.
