Hubby and I have been married 35 years and he’s never talked about Vietnam. He still speaks Vietnamese in his sleep occasionally.
No words except give him a big hug for me and tell him I said welcome home.
I love hugging tough guys. When my son was coming home from the stan the first Marine I saw in the visitor parking lot was an MP. I told him I was going to give him a hug and he stood still as stone. I still laugh at that. It was probably against regulations but I’M A FORMER MARINE MOM, YO. And Gold Star sister, Nam, army. so, I didn’t care.
