Depends. If he were an "orthodox" Protestant, following Christian doctrine and practice, he would be. If he were a "liberal" Protestant, following progressive Leftist doctrine and practice, he could get away with reckless homicide (cf. "Ted Kennedy"). The issue is not Catholic vs. Protestant, it is Christian vs. Satanic progressivism.
