Sigh (big one). This is the Edmund Walsh School of Foreign Service. Developed and presided over for years by Father Walsh, S.J. Walsh had seen the Bolshevik Revolution personally in Russia and later closely observed through friendships in German , such as Karl Haushofer, the course of the National Socialist Revolution.
He saw the Foreign Service as the diplomatic equivalent of the professional military officer corps and labored to get a graduate school of foreign service established in DC to train the ‘American warriors in business suits’ to be wise and profound students of the course of international relations and true patriots defending the US national interest against the global Soviet threat. That was back when SJ in the USA meant a highly educated orthodox RC and one who loathed communism to his marrow. Both the Society and Father Walsh's school have changed much much for the worse in the last 30-40 years.
