I am 60 and don't remember many of my HS friends girlfriend names unless I was friends with both of them. If this gal only hung out with Garret briefly, I could how Kav wouldn't remember her.

I think it is possible that Ford & Chris Garrett met at the Columbia Country Club and their "going out" period was a summer time thing mostly within the confines of the club.

That may be why the other boys (Kavanaugh) don't really know her.

Depends on how long they dated. If not for long, then she might not have been remembered. Or maybe, she made it up.
