How someone can look at that word, and think it is pronounced “nuke-ular” is beyond me.

The same could be said about the British way of pronouncing "aluminum" (ah-LOO-mih-num). They pronounce it "al-u-MIN-ee-um". Where does the "ee" sound come from?

Yeah, “alumin-ee-um” is amusing, but I can live with that one because, well, they’re British, and as George Bernard Shaw said, “We are two countries separated by a common language.”

As an aside, I have tremendous respect for what the British Empire once was, but sadly, these days there is less and less to admire and respect. They need a Trump of their own, a modern day Thatcher, badly.
